The Internet Society Trinidad and Tobago Chapter (ISOC TT) is dedicated to the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world.
Our History
The Trinidad and Tobago Chapter of the Internet Society serves the Internet Society's purposes by promoting the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people in Trinidad and Tobago, the region, and the world.
The Chapter focuses on Internet connectivity and accessibility, Internet Governance, advising the government on policies and legislation, and other emerging issues related to the Internet ecosystem that could present new opportunities or pose challenges to the country.
Working for an open, globally-connected, secure, and trustworthy Internet for everyone, the Chapter promotes the development of the Internet as a global technical infrastructure, a resource to enrich people's lives, and a force for good in society. We seek collaboration with all who share these goals.
The Chapter Undertakes a Variety of Programmes and Activities Such As:
Public Policy Programmes
Our Public policy programmes raise our voices and inform decision-makers about Internet issues such as net neutrality, copyright protection, censorship, or human rights.
Educational
We host educational events to inform both technical and non-technical audiences on topics such as Internet security, broadband access, and Internet safety.
Networking Events
Networking is crucial for professional growth. Our events help members connect with others who share their passion for the Internet's mission.
Community Programmes
We ensure Internet access for economically disadvantaged individuals and promote best practices in rural areas.
Policy Committees
Monthly calls led by Internet thought leaders focus on safety, security, and openness, developing policy positions for government and stakeholders.
